I had the honour of meeting him in 08 and was surprised at his height, I'm 6ft on the nose and would say he was within an inch of me at the most so 6'1 maximum maybe even 6ft. He was especially large either. 215lbs tops. I could see him being a peak 6'2. As for weight I know he was around 280 as a blade runner. I also read an NPC bodybuilding interview were he says he weighed around 263 in 90-91. I've always been curios about his weight in his comebacks. 92 he looked 230lbs and probably 250lbs by the time he left. 96 he looked 250-ish. 98 WCW he looked older than his years and I would have said 235-ish.
What's the consensus in the Warrior world?

He was pretty much always introduced to the ring by quoting 275lbs.

i think warrior was 5'11". a wrestlers height is typically exaggerated by 3 inches. when i compare guys i worked with to me, and they have pics with guys who worked with warrior, theres no way he was 6'2"

His wrestling cards and magazines always said 6'2" 275lbs, as I remember. But yeah, they inflated the sizes of everyone. Andre, for instance, was not 7'4" or 7'3" as they claimed, he was more around 6'11" to 7'.

youtu.be/WBex8HmG-9oWarrior looking tall here next to Vince....Foot wear helping maybe. I did once read a rarer interview with Warrior from 1991 based more on bodybuilding and diet topics he did (about 2003 when i actually read it) He was asked "Were u always a tall guy???" Which he answered "In my last year of high school i was 5"11 and then i grew to 6 foot 3 by the age off 21 which is my current Height now. I was tall for a bodybuilder i guess, which made it hard to squat and deadlift while growning taller" I'd give him 6"2 peak height after i met him in person once. His many hair styles and Think legs and body weight decrease made his peak height hard to pin point.....plus later last few years of his life before he past away was clear he had knee/leg injuries, which made him appear to have very poor poshchure compared to having a great one back in 90s... lost a good 3inch i bet by his HOF induction i bet!!!

I don't have any reason to believe he wasn't every bit of 6'3" in his prime. Another thing that a lot of people discount also is the fact that when you first wake up in the morning you are taller than you are in the evening. As you sleep you cerebrospinal fluid moves back in between your vertebrae and as you walk and stand throughout the day that fluid gradually moves out due to compression. Even in his 50s if his posture was good, I'd give him his full height in the morning.
Sting has said on numerous occasions (while not in kayfabe) that warrior was a legit 285 lbs. when he met him. Warrior's last bodybuilding weight after diuresing (expelling excess water) and being dieted down was 259 lbs. As lean as he was throughout his wrestling career I don't believe he was quite as lean as when he was competing a bodybuilder. He also stated on more than one occasion that his prime wrestling weight was usually between 275-285 lbs. I also find this very plausible because he wasn't walking around diuresed and he also looked slightly bigger and fuller in his overall muscular size as a wrestler than as a bodybuilder. Kevin Nash also stated in an interview once that he met Jim Hellwig in the mid 80s (before his wrestling career presumably) and that the first time he met him Warrior weighed 300 lbs. albeit he was not as lean.

I'm sure at his heaviest he was 300. Blade runners he looked 280 but after that he seemed to shrunk a little every year. As the Dingo Warrior he looked a lot smaller and smoother. Perhaps even drug free. After meeting him I just can't see 6'3 unless he had huge height loss. 6'2 tops. I imagine he wore thick soled boots or a small lift at some time. At one point he inches on Savage and by 92 they were eye to eye.

Warrior and I in 08. In 6ft and 190lbs here. I don't have a giant head, I'm just leaning to the camera slightly. Warrior had thick soled Timberland boots on... Such a great person to meet. By far the best wrestler I've had the pleasure of talking to.

That's a great pic. I never got the opportunity to meet Warrior. I've been a lifelong fan.
Without going into to much detail, I will say that I work in healthcare and getting someone's height is surprising more often than not. One individual I was taking care of I assumed was around 6'3" in his shoes mind you. He'd been talking to his doctor and some other staff and the way he carried himself; he just looked 6'3". When it came time to measure him and he took off his shoes and straightened his posture fully he was just under 6'7". I was shocked, but then I realized that he purposefully took a slightly wider stance and would lean forward when talking to people to be able to make eye contact with those shorter than himself.
I have another friend of mine who had come from a doctor's appointment and told me when they measured him and that he was 6'1". To which he said he was surprised because he was always taller than that before. He then surmised that he must have lost this height due to age. I immediately questioned the technique of the nursing staff that measured him and he told me how they had him stand and then took his measurement. I knew right away their 6'1" measurement was B.S. So, I had him slip off his shoes stand with correct posture and measured him myself at 8:00 PM in the evening mind you. After instructing him to stand with correct posture he measured at 6'2 and 2/3". He was just under 6'3" in the evening, meaning when he first rolls out of bed in the morning he's probably closer to 6'4".
In my experience, height is very difficult to judge. I've found the only way to really know how tall someone is, is if they get accurately measured in front of you. Just my opinion.
You look like you're in very good health, was the Warrior an exercise inspiration to you?
He's one of the main inspirations that started me lifting weights myself like I'm sure he was for a lot of people.

I started lifting in 91 age 15 because of Warrior, Hogan etc. I wasn't that big here as I'd just started racing bikes. I try to look after myself. I work in s bike shop and have to size people on bikes every day, we have a wall chart and I find in the UK most people think they're an inch or two taller than they actually are. I'm a pretty good judge of height and I wouldn't have put Warrior over 6'1. Seeing him in later years around WWE it was amazing how much smaller he was. The survivor series interview with Anvil and Rockers he was wY taller than them, likewise he had significant height on Savage. From 92 onwards he really did look to shrink. I met Hogan last year and I say he was 6'3.5.

He lost a significant amount of size after his first WWF run and never wrestled at that same size again. I'm sure most of it had to do with the legal changes regarding steroids. When he went up in size again during 92, the amounts he was using was likely less than what he previously was using. His physique, while tremendous in 92 and 96, never had the same size and mass particularly in his arms, legs, and lats. My favorite run will always be his first when he was at his biggest, unbelievably intense, and gorilla pressing everybody.

Not sure on how much difference this would really make but it defo makes a difference to some extent. Believe it or not i actually remember you at this signing, i was a couple of places behind u in the line. I was with a mate of mine who is 6"4 and he was clearly a far bit taller than Warrior. I'd still give Warrior a peak height off 6"2 in the very early 90s....I think maybe those squats he used to do shaved an inch off him to start....lol
