Warrior's different face paint designs through the years

Does anyone else think that Warrior's face paint was nowhere near as cool once he started going with the "speckled" type designs from 1996 onward? I love the early three colour designs, and the slightly more elaborate designs of 1991 or so were cool too (think the Game Boy ad and the WWF magazine cover with Hogan), but the later ones just don't grab me as much. It's still cool, sure, but it's not AS cool as the classic, early look.

This could most certainly be filed under minutiae, but hey, the paint was a huge part of his image (and, dare I say, a contributing factor to his early success!), so I thought I'd see if anyone else felt similarly. 

(Oh, and IMO the less said about the simple logo painted on his cheek the better. Urgh.)

I believe this was a way he and Vince suggest to humanise him a little more to fans. kinda a way to let peaople know what he really looked liked... until then when Warrior was seen without paint and regular clothes people really didn't reconise him in public......or so i once heard/read!!!

I thought he looked great in 92 just before he left. Great outfits, hair and face paint. Mega maniacs stuff was awesome.

89-90 is when his face paint was the best in my opinion..those neon colors were the best too

His facepaints starting in late summer 1988 through July 1990 were my favorite. I didn't like the designs he started doing for his attires and facepaints later in 1990 and his runs in 1992 and 1996. I know a lot of people enjoyed those, and they were interesting but I like the trademark warrior design he had established.

Speaking of Warrior's paint, I was watching some old Raw's on the WWE Network and noticed this odd appearance in 1995 by a female wrestler Bertha Faye, who seems to have painted a very similar design to UW's on her face. Go to the 9 minute mark to see when she enters, about 9:30 you get a really good look.



She never wore facepaint like this again. Wonder if Warrior saw it and took issue with it?
