My thought on the Warrior

I want to start out by saying that I am surprised that there is not much said about Warrior’s induction in the HOF?? I thought that Linda McMahon gave a very nice speech, it came from the heart. It gave some insight on the Warrior as a performer and more importantly the man and person he was!!

I enjoyed seeing Warrior back in the WWE, I really liked his speech, I think he finally after of these years finally cleared the air on things!! I could tell it made him feel much better. I know in the past he said he was not interested in going to the HOF, that it did not really matter to him, but to be honest you know it did!! He was such an influential character that could not be over looked!! The fact is when the Warrior came into the WWF He looked different he had charisma, he stood out!! Most important thing is that he made money for the WWF.

I also think it meant allot to his wife and family!! I don’t really think his daughter’s really knew the impact their dad made in the business, or how popular he really was and still is!! I am glad they were able to be there for that!!

It was great to see the Warrior on Monday Night Raw, and back in the WWE. After being gone for 18yrs, it seemed like something was missing, while he was gone!!

When I heard the news that Warrior past, I like all of the other fans were crushed, it was like a piece of us is now gone, there is an emptiness that will never be replaced!! I mean after waiting all of these years for Warrior to be back in the WWE and now he is no longer with us, that is a pain that stings.

I was fortunate enough to see the Warrior back in the 80’s on four occasions, I took my little cousin, it was fantastic!! I can remember it like it was yesterday, the lights went down his music hit and he ran to the ring full speed, he shook the ropes, it was awesome.

When Warrior left the WWF, to be honest I sort of lost interest in it. I watch it now, but the talent today is not the same!! Nobody stands out!!

I am glad that he is in the WWE HOF, I am happy that he made peace with Vince,The WWE, and the other talent!!

In closing I just want to say to the Warrior where ever you are at ( We miss you!!)

My sense of the entire thing is that Warrior was so fulfilled by his family and the ventures he took on after wrestling that he really didn't need the Hall of Fame or the WWE. That isn't to say he wouldn't appreciate being back in the fold on his terms, enjoying the spectacle of a WWE show, or the opportunities that a marketing / ambassador deal would afford him. It seemed to me that the guy was having a blast and doing what he suggested people do in life, enjoy the moment and really take it in for what it is.

It was a real moment to me when he let it be known that all the comments made about him, the burial DVD, everything bothered him. He's human, anyone would be bothered hearing that sort of thing said about them.

I really don't know what his thoughts on Vince were coming back. I would speculate he's realistic about the nature of people, but at the same time willing to give people a chance.

I was watching the Hall of Fame at a friend's house. He has much better internet speeds to allow streaming. My internet plan is garbage. I found myself hanging on every word. I felt bad that my friend really wasn't as engaged, but I think it's mostly because he only seemed interested in the performers he knew. But man, the things Warrior had to say about his time in wrestling, about life, about how everyone owes it to themselves to live up to their potential, that doing anything less is weak, I don't know how anyone wasn't inspired by that.

I don't know what Mick Foley sent out on Twitter about Warrior's speech. I know after Warrior's death, he said he regretted trying to make some humorous jab about it. But he noticed his daughter popped for one of the ideas Warrior was advocating, about how to live life.

Maybe something bigger than the wrestling persona will truly live on with another generation of kids. All that he wrote and preached on his website led to that inspired speech. Maybe there were more a few young minds receptive to that and can take that with them into their lives. I hope some young folks out there get the importance of what Warrior said and ignore the cynical dismissal of the stuff you heard on the Wrestling Observer show the week of Warrior's death.
